Here's my ode to "VIGNETTES".......................

Today after work as I sit here trying to find and decide what to post, I see the light!  Here are some vignettes and their details that we made for the American Girl dollhouse.  The hand painted nightstand has that eclectic look we were looking for and with the tissue box, and alarm clock, (both printed out at  printmini.com) and the table lamp which was inspired from myfroggy.com.  Love my cupcake liner lampshade and the polymer clay roses were our first baked flowers attempt and they came out pretty spiffy.  Why can't I retire and do this all the time.

This next VIGNETTE is the focal point of the dollhouse living room...the fireplace.  Well, well, where do I begin, OK the fireplace is a box covered with a fireplace image then glued on to the box, and I glued on small glass tiles to decorate the hearth.  The mantle is decorated with a square mirror, an AG magazine, a flameless potted votive light and the candelabra was copied from myfroggy.com.  It is made from 3 Q-tips and beads added as the actual candlestick.  The flame is made with red and yellow markers...and some very messy hands.  All in all we were very pleased with it.

Here is a nice wall vignette....just a few mirrors, but it looks pretty stylish.

Well that's it for today as my kitty cat is giving me that look.....like feed me!!!!  Goodnight.

American Girl *Homemade*

A Few Homemade Items for our American Girl house - Take A Look

My husband decided to participate and make the bunk bed from Ana-White homemaker a polished, creative, woodworker, among many things.  Thanks Ana, we have a very happy granddaughter and a "proud" grandpa.  I finished the look and made the bedding.  So we are presently working on additional beds and bedding.

I started watching some Polymer clay tutorials on You Tube and myself and granddaughter have had a ton of fun making all kinds of goodies for the dolls.  Here we have a cheeseburger, fries, a hot dog, sandwich and mini blueberry pancakes.  The McDonald fries holder is from Google images and just printed in wallet size.  Look at the Krispy Kreme donuts and chocolate chip cookies in box....sooooo cute!

The following pic is our adorable dog house made from a cardboard box, I made a nice cushion for the inside and printed and pasted roof shingle images for the roof.  Coconut is very happy there!

....so I think that's all for today.  Hope you enjoy the pics and I'll post more ideas and homemade things for YOUR American Girl room or house.  Stay tuned and put a little sunshine in your life!

Hello and Welcome

Today I was inspired by reading many fellow bloggers posts with creative minds and hands, so I thought I would join the club.  My purpose will be to also inspire with my crafts and ideas.  It is late tonight and tomorrow I work so I will post soon.  I hope to inspire others soon, but you can see my somewhat finished addition to what I have made for my granddaughter's American Girl house.  She recently acquired 2011 Kanani and we made this cute Ice Shaved Stand as they are no longer available.  Hope you enjoy it and keep a little Sunshine in your daily life!
