Welcome Home Julie

It's been quite some time since I've posted......so I will try to catch up with our projects since last October 2012.  The first one with honorable mention is welcoming American Girl historical doll Julie.  We proudly tried to recreate her bed and we certainly did.  Take a look at our homemade Julie's bed.  I have a video on my YouTube channel "PlanetAG4U" with cliff notes on how we put it together.  I came out pretty good if I say so myself.  Take a look....

One of the nicest things that happened in October was the opening of the American Girl Store in Miami.  We were able to go and that's when we got Julie.  It was a very exciting time.  The store is located in south Miami in the Falls shopping mall.

I can't imagine myself along with my granddaughter so involved with these dolls because they and their accessories are so expensive, but they are so beautiful and we have such a good time trying to recreate their items every chance we get.  We have started to visit Thrift stores and actually almost always find something that we can use in their house.  So have an open mind and patience and you can make and find things.  There are so many creative people out there to get so many ideas.  Keeping coupons from craft stores is also another great savings.  So you can save up money and get the doll and the rest you can put together.  Perseverance pays off.  Until next time.....Happy 2013!
